Salamander memberships

EPPA, the "European PVC Window Profile and Related Building Products Association" is the political lobby of European PVC window profile manufacturers, of which Salamander is an active member. The aim is to achieve and communicate sustainable solutions in technical, economic and institutional matters throughout Europe. EPPA supports the voluntary VinylPlus® initiative to shape a sustainable future with Europe.

VinylPlus® is the European PVC industry's voluntary commitment to sustainable development, of which Salamander is an active member. The initiative was pioneered by Vinyl 2010 and has been pursued by VinylPlus® since 2011, actively addressing the global challenges and priorities of environmentally friendly development until 2020 in order to raise awareness of sustainability along the PVC value chain. One of the initiative's goals is to recycle 800,000 tons of PVC by 2020. The window profile industry, including Salamander, is making a significant contribution to this.

Since 2002, Salamander has been a partner in the Rewindo recycling initiative, which is made up of members from leading German PVC-U profile manufacturers. The voluntary initiative is a clearing house that records volume flows and pursues the goal of increasing the recycling of removed plastic windows, roller shutters and doors and their subsequent reuse in new products, as well as promoting resource-efficient management. The growing quantities of reusable recyclate are proof of this success.

The Window + Façade Association is an autonomous and independent trade organization that represents the interests of all leading manufacturers in the window, door and façade sectors as well as system and trade partners and installation companies in Germany. The cross-material association acts as a mouthpiece for all topics relevant to the industry vis-à-vis politicians, the market and the media and has been supported by Salamander's long-standing membership since 1995.

The RAL Gütegemeinschaft Kunststoff-Fensterprofilsysteme e.V. (GKFP) awards the RAL quality mark to member companies such as Salamander that fulfill the rules of the RAL-GZ 716 quality and test specifications. The aim is to meet the highest quality requirements in order to ensure that the products manufactured are suitable for long-term use. The members of the association are made up of system houses, manufacturers of seals, raw materials, films, adhesive systems, seals and machines as well as contract laminating companies. Salamander has been a member since 1981.
